the first month

Charlotte is one month old! Already! Here is what the past 4 weeks have entailed:

Lottie is a wonderful babe. She is happy most of the time, but mornings are her prime time! Then and between 12-2am ;) She is so happy and active and will kick, coo and smile. I like to pretend her gas smiles are actually "hi mom!" smiles. I'm pretty sure they are. I've been trying to capture as much as I can about her now, I don't want to forget anything. My favorite are probably the wrinkly hands and feet photos. I love those! Charlotte is slowly chunking up so I hope to have some rolly thigh pictures soon!

Having a baby has been the biggest change in my life. I expected labor to be hard, but I don't think I was fully prepared for the hormone drop and how my body reacts to sleep deprivation after she was born. Labor was a piece of cake! But, we survived this month of checking every 10 minutes to be sure Charlotte was still breathing, numerous heel pricks, sleeping odd hours and loads of the cutest laundry you have ever seen! I am so grateful for the help from friends and family, especially my wonderful momma.

Lottie celebrated her one month birthday by sleeping for 5 straight hours last night! What a nice gift for her momma!
